Alice has stepped off the pages...

...and come to life! I just finished this custom order Alice doll. She is 8" tall and will live in her very own "Alice's Palace" in Atlanta.

I have never done a sculpted piece in black and white, so this was a challenge and also very fun. You know I LOVE color, but it was nice to not have to worry about picking the perfect colors. I used black paint, ink and pastels to get desired illustrative effect.

A very small post :)....

I have been working on my sweet tooth kitty pull toy all day and am still not finished, but wanted to share one little detail...a teeny weeny itsy bitsy cotton candy made especially for a smiling purple feline.

The Tweedles

I finished up this pair of tiny Tweedles this weekend. I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed creating them! If they weren't commissioned by a special customer, I never would have attempted them. I am grateful that I had some gentle prodding to push me outside of my comfort zone. They are 3 1/2" tall and will go into a miniature Tweedledee and Tweedledum inspired room. Bon Voyage, boys!!

WIP Tweedles and such....

I have been trying to get all of the custom orders on my list sculpted this week....lots of bird cake toppers, mad hatters and this pair of Tweedles for a very special customer. I was scared to try these, but once I jumped into it, the challenge was fun. The customer who requested them is the biggest doll collector I know, and she is particularly wild for Alice in Wonderland. I think she now has 27 Alice dolls from various fantastic artists. She collects dolls of all sizes, but she is particularly interested in miniatures. She creates whimsical "rooms" around all of her miniature dolls and characters. So, these Tweedles had to be around 3" tall to fit into her mini Tweedle room.

So, here they are...Tweedles-in-Progress!

Polka dotted clown critters!

I just finished this juggling cat lady and these two mini clowns. The little kitty and rabbit clowns remind me of those weeble wobbles i used to play with as a child...i love those chubby round bodies! These pieces defintely show my fondness for polka dots!!! All three will be available in my etsy shop shortly.
