Experimenting with Illustrating

I have been playing around with my illustration skills (or lack thereof). I have wanted to write and illustrate a children's book for years, and I feel like it is the right time to do it. I am a bit burnt out on the sculpting, so I am putting that on hold for the time being to pursue my book dream.

Ideas are swirling in my head, so I am doing a lot of brainstorming on the text while I experiment with different media....

Bunnycat for Pfatt!

Silly Sketches...pull toys are on the way!

I realized that it has been almost a year since I have made an animal pull toy! I love creating them, but they require lots of uninterrupted and focused sculpting time. So, I decided to dedicate the next few weeks to making 3 fun little critter carts. I have my work cut out for me, and I am excited to get rolling on them!

Here are the sketches that I will be working from. I usually do very VERY rough sketches for my dolls, but for the pull toys, I really need to plan them out and illustrate the animals in a more detailed, accurate way. And I am also trying to work on my illustration skills for a future project that is brewing in my brain.

Friday Fun...a few more crazy cats!

Happy Friday to all! I just added a few more crazy smiling kitties to my shop. I'll be finishing up a sweet rabbit girl today, and then next week I will be having some major sculpting sessions. I need to get going on a Halloween theater, another set of Tweedles and of course, more cats :).

My two favorite things, cats and cupcakes....a purrfectly sweet combination!

Smiling Cats Galore for the STJ update!

I went a bit crazy with my grinning kitties this month! I will have four of them available for the Spookytime Jingles update tonight at midnight. I've seen some wonderful sneak peeks from the other STJ artists! I am always so humbled and proud to be a part of this fabulous group.
