New Wedding Cake Topper Designs

I have finished a few new wedding cake toppers that can be completely customized with different animals and color schemes. I am totally in love with the bunting banners that I so often see on Etsy these days, so I just HAD to incorporate miniature versions in my cake topper designs. The birch bases are new too. I adore the natural, woodland touch they add. These are all available in my Etsy shop right now. Ok, back to the table to work on new animal clown birthday cake toppers... Happy Wednesday!

A Special Milestone....

Last week we traveled to Raleigh, NC for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. What a HUGE milestone! They are such amazing parents, and we had a GREAT time celebrating their big day. Mom and Dad met at school in Chapel Hill over 50 years ago, so we spent the day there eating lunch, walking around and visiting the new Carolina Basketball Museum. Brian and I also met there almost 18 years ago, so we are a Tarheel family through and through! That night we had a special dinner at the Hayes Barton Cafe in Raleigh. It was a fantastic meal that ended with a mouthwatering wedding cake adorned with some SnipPet cake toppers. It was fun to finally make a pair for family members :).

A Cat, a Tiger and a Dragon, oh my!

I just completed a very unique and whimsical cake topper. My customer requested a cat bride, a tiger groom and a beribboned heart to top her fairytale dragon cake. She his having a medieval inspired wedding...such fun!

The tiger's tunic and bride's dress were modeled after the actual wedding attire...just simplified.

This is a picture of what the cake will look like...sorry it is so small, but I wanted you to see it.

Lovely Lulu and Little Ellies

Saturday was definitely my lucky day!! First, we did our taxes and were thrilled to find out that we are getting a refund. Shoowee, what a relief since we need a new car AND a new computer (I am afraid this one is going to blow up in a cloud of smoke just like our car did :)!) And then, I found out that I won a fantastic giveaway by the uber talented and super sweet Lulu of My Pink Turtle!!!! Wowee!! Oh, how I LOVE and adore her artwork and blog. Lulu is one of those special people that oozes enchantment and magic. When I visit her blog it makes me want to live in her lovely world. She has such an amazing sense of creativity and style. I cannot wait to receive her beautiful giveaway!!!! THANKS bunches, Lulu!!! Many purrs to you :)!

I just finished up a custom elephant cake topper order. The bride wanted traditional Indian dress, so here they are complete with a mini gold and white sari, a kurta pajama and a tiny turban. I loved making them!

A SnipPet Zoo: Baldwin Eagles, a Panda and a Gorilla

I just finished up two very special SnipPet cake toppers. The first is a pair of Boston College Baldwin Eagles. My special customer wanted the bride to have maroon and gold pom poms instead of a bouquet, and she wanted the groom to wear a marching band hat, have a BC pennant in hand, and be flanked with a tiny sousaphone! I truly enjoyed creating this little mascot couple.

This wonderfully quirky and charming pair was also a fun request. The gorilla groom needed to have an Ohio State jersey peeking out of his tuxedo, and the panda bride's silver dress had to match the actual wedding gown design. She has a tiara instead of a veil and her bouquet contains tiny sculpted gerbera daisies.

Lucky Thai Elephants

Oh boy, I hope the weather is as beautiful where you are as it is here!!! I wish I could bottle it up and save it. Unfortunately, I need to sit here on the computer and do prep work for our taxes. Ick. Oh well. I'll feel a lot better once it's done!

We started our weekend cat trapping adventure early this morning. We got 3 so far and will hopefully have 2 more by the end of the day. They are such beautiful, sweet kitties...not feral at all...just neighborhood cast offs :(. It makes me very sad but fortunately, their sweet caretaker provides them with plenty of food and shelter. I'll write more about what happens later.

I finished up a few cake toppers yesterday...several elephants. The ones in the photo below are particularly special. A woman in Australia ordered them. She and her fiance are getting married in Thailand on the beach. They are riding in to the Buddhist ceremony on an elephant! So cool! She requested that their attire match her bridal down and the groom's outfit. The wedding colors are magenta, orange and lime, and she wanted the elephant's trunks up for good luck.
