Revisiting my past creations

I have really been missing the challenge of creating animal sculptures. A few years ago, i began a series of mixed media figures made with paperclay. The only reason i stopped this artistic adventure was because i had to get a "real" job to support my husband and I while he finished his PhD. I am itching to get back to exploring this type of art doll/sculpted work. Soooo, I thought that i would share some photos of these past creations.

I simply LOVE fairy tale and fable characters (animals, of course) and the feeling of Cirque du Soleil. I hope i can create some of the whimsy and magic that i feel from those inspirations.

I'll be posting "the process" of new pieces in the coming days. It will be fun to document how each piece evolves.

wow a girl after my own heart.. a heart that loves animals..kittys to be exact...I love our puppy..but I LOVE my kittys..those 3 that were in your post the ones you had fixed are precious...out of 13 cats we have had only 1 came from parents we knew the rest are/were rescues and we love them..we lived in italy for 3 years and saw many that were strays and just wanted to be loved and of course fed..we fed them twice a day...they knew my car too..it was sad because they don't believe in fixing their animals nor do they treat them as such..3 of our babys come from italy...took 2 with us to italy and came back with 5..each with a different story..I love your art work too...I am always amazed at the wonderful talent out there..Thanks for stopping by my blog to say hi! :)have a great rest of the week...

Carrie- My 5 year old daughter was given Caroline's Menagerie and two characters (Caroline and Filiberto)- when she was a baby- and she's just discovered the book. She loves it- and she keeps asking for Panna Sunita- the beautiful peacock. Can your Caroline Menagerie pieces still be purchased and where? Thanks!

OH my gosh, Angela, it is so neat to hear from you! How in the world did you find me? I was really delighted and surprised to read your comment. I'd love to hear who gave you the CM book and characters. I went to your blog and saw your beautiful family. I am honored that Miss Ella is enjoying the book. Please email me and we can correspond about a Panna Sunita creation.
Thanks so much for writing~~
