Double good news for Choo!
I almost forgot to tell you that Jimmy Choo's Leukemia re-test came back negative (!!!) AND he went to his forever home last week!!! We were beyond thrilled and relieved about his test results. His adopter was very excited too. She and her family wanted him no matter what, but we all wanted to be assured that he would live a long, healthy life from here on out. So, he is now in St. Louis with his wonderful family and his new best buddy, Milo. Thankfully, Milo was ok to let go of his "only cat" status and welcome Choochoo into his life with open paws :). They eat together, sleep together and play all night together. Joy joy!

A little cat chat....
Good news!! Suki and Oscar went to their new loving home on Saturday. I am so thrilled that they were adopted together, and their new family adores them. Woohoo for a happy ending!
Now, i just need to find a wonderful home for their brothers, Sammy and Skippy. These two are literally the sweetest boys EVER! They are my bundles of joy. Both of them purr immediately when they lay eyes on you and love to snuggle. They play hard too....everything they see is a toy! Whoever ends up adopting them is going to be super lucky because they are so amazing.

My vet called this morning and begged me to take a kitten that had been run over by a car. How could i possibly say no??!! If I didn't, he would probably be taken back to animal control where he would meet a terrible fate. I had wanted to take a little break from fostering, but that just isn't going to happen any time soon. Our amazing vet has done so much to help with our rescued cats and kittens, so I want to help THEM as much as I want to help the kitten. They are the most compassionate, generous vet clinic I have dealt with. I will be picking up the little one tomorrow, so I will give you an update soon.
This weekend is the monthly TNR clinic, so I will be heading to the stockyards to try to trap 5 feral cats and kittens. Paws crossed that we fill all 5 slots!!

Jack Sprat, Vinny and Meadow
Just thought I'd share a few kitty photos today. I have ended up keeping Jack's name as Jack....it has simply stuck. You all gave me SUCH great name suggestions, so i am going to keep those for future kitties :).
Vinny is being adopted tomorrow afternoon! We will be so sad to see him go, but his new mom is wonderful and she is extremely excited to give him a loving home. Meadow is going to her new dad's house on the 30th. Woohoo for these two! We have a potential adopter for Jack Sprat, so things are rolling along.
Of course, it seems that as soon as i get one crew on the move, another crew awaits :(. I got 4 panicked messages this morning from a girl i have been helping with spaying and neutering for a year now. There are 4 kittens on her patio. Apparently a new female adult showed up a few weeks ago and you can imagine the rest of the story. Ugh. I will need to get the mama caught and spayed ASAP, and it looks like the kittens may be coming here.
Stay tuned....
and enjoy these warm fuzzies!

Princess Pekingese
Shoowee, i just got home from delivering little Lulu to her new home. It about did me in. I was a wreck all day and then started crying about an hour before i had to leave. Then, as i peeled her away from her brother, i lost it again. Ugh, why do i have to get so emotional???! Thankfully, Lulu's new family was extremely nice and fell in love with her even more when they saw her in person. I just get so worked up because there are never any guarantees when you let them go. You just have to use your best judgment and take a leap of faith. I'll never, ever forget that one eyed sweet pea and her tough tiny spirit!
As for my artwork....haven't been getting much of that done lately and need to get focused again! I did finish the commissioned pekingese princess piece that i have been working on for quite some time. I had a hard time getting decent photos of her because of the size and shape of the sculpture, but here she is anyway....

Thrills with the Grill and Kitty update
Brian and I bought our very first grill on Saturday and tested it out last night! We had so much fun prepping our food and then standing together watching it cook. We are such dorks!! We can't help it....simple pleasures make us very happy :). It was so easy and dinner was scrumptious!! Brian had good, basic burgers, and I made a portobello mushroom, eggplant and red pepper sandwich with melted mozzarella...YUMM-Y! We also made corn on the cob medallions grilled in parchment. I saw the recipe in Martha Stewart's magazine and it was truly delectable.

As for kitten/cat news....
I listed my foster furkids on Craig's list since i wasn't having any luck with Petfinder and email blasts and I still haven't gotten up the nerve to do the PetSmart adoptions. A lady contacted me about Lulu, our one eyed baby. Her daughter fell in love with her photo. They were willing to fill out my application (unlike many people...big red flag on that!) and it sounds like the are big animal lovers. They have 2 dogs, 3 cats and a hamster. I am supposed to deliver Lulu to her new home tomorrow. I know i am going to be a wreck....parting with these little ones kills me every time.
Vinny, Lulu and Meadow graduated from our kitten room yesterday morning. They had their second round of shots on Saturday and are totally healthy and well adjusted, so i decided they could explore the house and meet our cats. Here is Vinny getting settled in quite easily :).

Good news and a Giveaway!
I am happy to report that Miss Gisele, the siamese kitty I posted about this week, was adopted yesterday!!! A fellow TNR volunteer in a neighboring county emailed me that his brother was looking for a special kitty. His beloved Himalayan rescue cat had died in June and he was devastated. He had adopted him 10 years ago and loved him dearly. So, apparently, Gisele caught his eye and it was perfect timing. He was ready for a new, warm, furry body to share his life with. When I delivered her yesterday, she got right out of the carrier and started adventuring around his house. When her new dad would pick her up, Gisele would snuggle up against his face. He was completely enamored! She will be the princess in his household for sure. I am SO relieved to find a wonderful home for at least one of my fosters.
I haven't had any luck at all yet on my kittens, but hopefully soon someone will come along!
I can't believe it is July 30th and I haven't had a giveaway!!! Well, better late than never, right?! I am offering up a KittySnip again...whoever wins can pick one out from my Etsy shop. Here is my personal favorite, Emma.

How do you win??? You must leave a comment on this post and give me an idea for a name for the sweet stray kitty boy who showed up at our house (see last post for a close up photo). I had been calling him "Jack" and my husband keeps calling him "Steve". So silly! We think that human male names for a cat are so funny, but neither of those quite fit. We need your help, so give us some good ideas!! I will choose a winner on Monday.
Jack/Steve has come back every afternoon to sleep in the bed on the porch. It started pouring rain the other night and when we opened the door, he came flying in. I dried him off and he curled up on the sofa with us for awhile. I am going to take him to the vet tomorrow and get him combo tested and get his vaccinations and deworming done. Here are some new photos of him as well as a few of our regulars, Magee and Missy.

Which kitty is the real one :)??
