farm animal stack sculpted...

...quick peek at my third pull toy sculpted. I have completed the sculpting step on all three pull toys so now I am just waiting for everything to dry. Hopefully, I will be able to sand and prime on Monday (tedious, but oh so important!) and then the BEST part can begin...painting!!!! I am ready for COLOR!

Looking simply stunning so far. I rarely use pulps myself (am going to be using a plaster pulp recipe one of my own creations soon - current project on my blog) but when i do i find that if you mix a 50%/50% water & PVA glue in which i dip a small metal spoon. You can gently rub the pulp to a much smoother finish reducing if not removing the need to sand the project prior to painting. The trick is to not let the spoon run dry or the pulp get too wet.

I let the pulp air dry for a short time until it is just firming up to the touch.
