Thrills with the Grill and Kitty update

Brian and I bought our very first grill on Saturday and tested it out last night! We had so much fun prepping our food and then standing together watching it cook. We are such dorks!! We can't help it....simple pleasures make us very happy :). It was so easy and dinner was scrumptious!! Brian had good, basic burgers, and I made a portobello mushroom, eggplant and red pepper sandwich with melted mozzarella...YUMM-Y! We also made corn on the cob medallions grilled in parchment. I saw the recipe in Martha Stewart's magazine and it was truly delectable.

As for kitten/cat news....
I listed my foster furkids on Craig's list since i wasn't having any luck with Petfinder and email blasts and I still haven't gotten up the nerve to do the PetSmart adoptions. A lady contacted me about Lulu, our one eyed baby. Her daughter fell in love with her photo. They were willing to fill out my application (unlike many people...big red flag on that!) and it sounds like the are big animal lovers. They have 2 dogs, 3 cats and a hamster. I am supposed to deliver Lulu to her new home tomorrow. I know i am going to be a wreck....parting with these little ones kills me every time.

Vinny, Lulu and Meadow graduated from our kitten room yesterday morning. They had their second round of shots on Saturday and are totally healthy and well adjusted, so i decided they could explore the house and meet our cats. Here is Vinny getting settled in quite easily :).

Oh good luck to the little one being re-homed. It must be hard for you ~ but you really have given them a good start prior to going to their forever home.

It really is the simple things in life that are so wonderful and special. You and your husband sound so much like me and my husband!

My boys, Sebastian and Reilly are on craigslist and petfinder and still nothing..... I'm sure the right person will come along when the time is right. I think after their next round of shots we will release them from the foster room too.
Thank goodness for the adoption application! If they aren't willing to fill it out or give vet and personal references, there's probably a good reason. I ran into that last year.
I had an email about Saylor, just waiting to hear back.... sounds promising though!
I know parting with Lulu will be bittersweet, but it's great to know she will be taken care of well. I still don't think it ever gets easier though.

Yay for Lulu finding a new home! Sad for you though. I still miss my Morris & Gypsy that I took to new homes last January.
Your dinner looks so yummy! Even the buns look delicious! I'm getting hungry!
Did you decide on a name for your black & white "Jack" yet?
Take care ~ Jill

Oh, that does look yummy. I love the kitty picks. So sweet. I have to add some of mine. No one's graduated out of the kitten room anytime soon. LOL

I laughed right out loud at your "we are dorks" comment!! You sound like my husband and I. We will sit and watch the grass grow if we could...he is a watching and I am a doer so we even each other out pretty good!!
