The Lion and the Lamb

The Lion and the Lamb....FUNDRAISER for CATS in NEED.
I am selling this piece in my Etsy shop at a very reduced price as a cat rescue fundraiser. 100% of the sale will be donated toward spay/neuter/vet care for cats and kittens this spring. This labor intensive piece (40+ hours, was $600) has a special place in my heart. I made it in a fantastic dollmaking class years ago...was my first attempt at sculpting human hands. I put it up for sale for awhile and then I decided to keep it for myself, but I am now ready to let it go to help the kitties :)! I am getting so many sad, desperate email pleas for cats and kittens in need right now (especially in GA). Every single dollar makes a huge difference in saving lives.
Purrs to all~~

SnipPet Fundraiser in honor of Be Kind to Animals Week!

In case you didn't know, Be Kind to Animals Week started today! Hooray!!!! I wanted to do something special to celebrate, so I have created a section in my Etsy shop dedicated to fundraising for three amazing rescue groups: Good Mews Animal Foundation (no kill cat shelter in Atlanta GA), Caring Hearts Feline Rescue (cat and kitten rescue in Versailles KY) and the Home At Last Feral Cat Program (spay/neuter clinic in Lexington KY). I have volunteered for all of them and can attest to the fantastic work they all do. They are all local groups that rely solely on donations, so they need our support.

100% of the sales in my fundraising section will go directly toward the group of your choice and it will be given in your name. Also, I am going to specify that the money be used to help fund their spay/neuter programs. So, it's basically shopping for snipping!! Lastly, as a little further incentive, I have reduced the prices of all the items that were put into this section to make them very affordable.

Calling all animal lovers!!!

Make sure you head over to Spookytime Jingles on the 13th!!! It is the STJ one year anniversary, AND we are raising money for the ASPCA and local animal groups!!! SO exciting! Many of the STJ artists are giving a percentage of the sales of their Halloween and Christmas creations to cats and dogs in need! 100% of the sales of two of my Halloween munchkins will go toward the animals and 15% of all of my other pieces will be donated. I can't wait to see everyone else's wonderful work! For more details, you can visit the STJ blog. Scroll down to read several informative posts.

Hope all of you have a super duper weekend!!!! I am OUT.....

Fundraising to get 3 feral cats spayed!!

Hi everyone!

I am planning on trapping 3 female feral adult cats on Sunday night in order to get them spayed at a low cost clinic on Monday. I usually only trap for the monthly TNR clinic because it is a wonderfully affordable $10 per cat, but i am going to be out of town during the next clinic date and these 3 females cats cannot wait until August! So, i am trying to take the next least expensive route and get them into the low cost clinic here which costs $59 per cat. In order to raise some funds for their surgeries, 100% of the sales of artwork in my Etsy shop between today and Sunday will go toward snipping these kitties! Also, I would like to offer FREE shipping, so i will reimburse shipping costs (it would take me all day to change the shipping on each item, so this is the easiest solution).

Foster kitten photos will be coming soon!! I have a new addition as of yesterday.

In the meantime, our back patio feral boys, Magee and Joe, say hello!

Introducing the KittySnips!

First, I want to thank all of you who commented on my last post!! I am definitely taking your SnipPet picks to heart as I prepare to ship off my dolls to ADQ. I truly appreciate your input!!!! You are the BEST.

On to my newest creations....

Late last week, i started sculpted some crazy little cat busts. I was itching to try some pieces that were a bit simpler and smaller than my usual designs. I also wanted them to be humorous and silly. I don't know if it is the summer weather that is making me giddy....or if it is my foster kittens' antics....or what. Everything just seems more fun than usual right now :)! These cat sculptures were also an exercise in playing with facial expressions. I definitely broke in my teeny tiny crafting brushes while attempting to get all the details just purrfect. I have named this line of artwork the KittySnips....and they will all have their own special names. This kitty crew sort of has a Dr. Seuss meets South Park meets my crazy foster kittens vibe. They range from 3" to 4.5" tall. I will be putting them in my etsy shop shortly. Each sculpture will be in the $20 range AND...the best part....I will donate a percentage of the sales of these directly to spaying and neutering cats and kittens in Lexington!!! The KittySnips and I hope you will support this very important project. One last thing...if you would like to order a custom KittySnip, please let me know. They will have the same round faced, googly eyed look as these, but you can choose the cat's facial expression and colors. Email me at: snippetgirl@gmail.com

Ozzie, Odette and Olivia were helping me try out my new photo box. What a hoot!! They were climbing the backdrop...not exactly productive assistants but definitely entertaining!

Stuart and Sunny SnipPet Dolls are on sale now!

I am really excited about my Stuart and Sunny SnipPet dolls! I found a wonderful website that can print your images on fabric. I had been wanting to make simple plush dolls so the printed fabric was the perfect solution. My ever generous mom is doing the sewing for me, and she even handstitched over Sunny and Stuart's spay/neuter "stitch" to give it a handcrafted touch AND emphasize my s/n symbol!!! 100% of the profits from the sale these dolls will go toward spaying and neutering cats barn/feral/stray cats in and around Lexington. I want to make more, so start buying them now :)!
